Affiliate Guide to the 156th Annual Vermont-NEA Educators' Convention

The annual Vermont-NEA Educators' Convention is a 156-year tradition in our state.Teachers have gathered each year since 1851 to meet colleagues, attend the exhibit, and participate in professional programs offered by Vermont-NEA subject area affiliates.

These programs for educators are the heart of the Convention and, therefore, Vermont-NEA offers this support and service to its affiliates:

Financial Support. Vermont-NEA pays a subsidy to affiliates to support their Convention programs. Affiliates get $200 for offering a program, plus $100 more for offering the program at the Vermont-NEA Convention site, where meeting space is available FREE. In addition, affiliates get $50 for every 50 affiliate members, or major fraction thereof.

An Exhibit Table. Affiliates are entitled to free exhibit space at the Convention Exhibition on Wednesday evening and Thursday of the Vermont-NEA Convention. Click here to reserve exhibit space.

Advertising. Affiliates are entitled to FREE space in Vermont-NEA Today to advertise themselves and their meetings. Submit announcements and articles to the editor at vtnea@together.net. To include your affiliate's Convention program in the official Convention booklet, submit it (online, please!) by August 20.

A Place to Hold Meetings. Vermont-NEA affiliates are entitled to use the Conference room at Vermont-NEA's Montpelier office. The room seats 20 comfortably and may be reserved ahead of time by calling Vermont-NEA at 1-800-649-6375. (Ask for Sandy Perkins.)
