Hundreds of educators and other working Vermonters yesterday took the streets in more than a dozen communities across the state to protest Gov. Phil Scott’s veto of the budget and the education funding bill. By doing so, he has put the state on the course of a government shutdown in 22 days. All because he wasn’t able to complete his attack on educators and strip away their rights to work directly with their local school boards.
From Brattleboro to Bennington, Montpelier to Winooski, Newport to St. Johnsbury, Rutland to Barre, hundreds of you and others disappointed in Gov. Scott stood up and let him know that Vermont is NOT DC.
We still have work to do. If you have a moment, please give the governor a call at 802.828.3333 and tell him that if he doesn’t want to be called a DC-style politician, he should stop acting like one.
