2017 Leadership & Learning Conference Keynote: St. Paul Federation of Teachers
We are excited to announce St. Paul Federation of Teachers will be joining us for our conference keynote session. Learn about their innovative approach to organizing and bargaining using a similar strategy modeled after the Chicago Teachers’ Union. SPFT developed a Schools Our Community Deserves document outlining the needs of the school community ranging for more nurses in each school to less standardized testing to professional wages. They used walk-ins and community rallies as tactics towards winning strong contracts in the last 3 years. SPFT is now a NEA training hub for local Associations to learn how to implement similar strategies in their local Associations and to scale it to the size of their community. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udbB-7sQWCA
