In summary, these are the responsibilities of teachers with regard to relicensing:
1. Know when your educator license expires. If you frame and hang your license in your classroom, you will always know the expiration date.
2. Notify the licensing office of the Vermont Standards Board for Professional Educators (VSBPE) of any address changes.
3. Have an Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) approved by and on file with the Local Standards Board (LSB) at the appropriate time.
4. Receive prior and final approval for professional development activities for which you wish to receive relicensing credit.
5. Maintain a portfolio documenting all activities for which you wish to receive relicensing credit or activities that meet the Five Standards for Vermont Educators.
6. Submit to the LSB the portfolio containing a completed IPDP, including a narrative of how the five standards have been met, approved activities and credits for the renewal period, and a new IPDP for the next renewal period. The LSB can then recommend relicensure to the Licensing Office of the VSBPE.
7. Submit an approved, completed license renewal form, correct fees, and any other required forms to the Licensing Office.
