Your Rights & Workplace

We need the working conditions to succeed now—and ensure the next generation of educators joins us.
We believe in taking collective action to ensure the collective good. When we raise our voices, we help every educator get the support they need to join, stay, and thrive in our profession.
We need and deserve fair salaries and benefits. We need and deserve safe workplaces that respect who we are and what we bring to our students. We need and deserve the right to demand change. Let’s redefine the workplace—together.

Retiring With Security Seminars

For the 22nd straight year, Vermont-NEA, in collaboration with the Vermont State Teachers’ Retirement System, NEA Member Benefits, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont, is sponsoring free, intensive, and informative workshops on how teachers can plan for retirement. Seminars are open to Vermont-NEA members. Note: These seminars are designed for those enrolled in the Vermont State Teachers' Retirement System. This year, the workshops will be strictly virtual. These workshops fill up fast--usually within a week or two after registration opens--so don't delay in reserving your spot! Each session will run from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. We look forward to meeting with you soon!

Weingarten Rights

Every VT-NEA member is guaranteed the right to union representation during an investigatory interview conducted by his or her employer if the interview could in any way lead to discipline, including termination, or could affect the member’s personal or working conditions

I love helping make our professional employees have a better living, a safe to place to work and the happiest, most rewarding work environment possible.
