Education Support Professionals (ESPs)

Vermont's Education Support Professionals (ESPs) are vital to the success of every Vermont Student.
Vermont ESPs are a part of a family of support professionals. In Vermont, our ESPs include paraeducators, bus drivers, school food programs, clerical, resources officers, and custodians.
ESPs support the needs of all learners in our classroom, both directly and indirectly.

ESP Conference 2024

This year's Vermont-NEA Education Support Professional's Conference will take place on Friday, April 5th at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Burlington. The Keynote Speaker will be Afrika Afeni Mills, author of the book, "Open Windows, Open Minds: Developing Antiracist, Pro-Human Students.

Vermont Educators of Color May 2024 Retreat

Hosted by the Vermont Educators of Color Association! A grassroots group working to build relationships and make change for educators of color in Vermont. While many of us are k-12 educators, we welcome educators in any setting from early education, to after school, to higher education, please join us to heal and connect! This retreat is only for self-identified educators of color!

Micro-Credentials

A micro-credential is a short, competency-based recognition. VT-NEA & NEA offer over 175 micro-credentials that have been created by educators for educators.

Professional learning for our ESPs is essential for strengthening our schools. Mentoring new ESPs is an important first step towards building new ESP knowledge and skills so they continually improve in their role as support staff.
